Some good news!!!

Our little boy is HIV negative so he will be going out for adoption. Please pray that the Social Workers will find good parents for him. It will be sad for some of the mamas when he leaves because they fell in love with him.

Both of the kids just woke up when we took this pictures

We have another cute little girl. She will be a month old on the 30th of June. Once she is 6 weeks old, we will test her to see if she is HIV positive.

Here is one of the children with the trophy that she won from the Holiday Bible Club

All the children are on school holiday. It’s been really an exciting week for them as they get to sleep a little bit later in the morning. The children have been attending the Wychwood Baptist Church’s Holiday Bible Club, where they teach the children bible verses and songs and play games with them. Every day when they come home they teach me the bible verse and sing the songs they learnt that day. Some of our children have won prizes for memorizing the Bible verses.

Please continue to pray for them that they will hide the word of God in their hearts, not just know it their heads.

The children were blessed!!!

The children were blessed last weekend…. Thank you to KPMG

KPMG is one of our long term sponsors: The company does our audit free of charge every year – it’s wonderful for us to have an internationally recognized Audit company sign off our Financial Statements. Over and above this, the employees contribute monthly from their personal salaries – this money is used to buy the monthly groceries for our homes.
If that isn’t enough, twice a year, at Christmas and mid year, KPMG hosts an outing for all the children. This year they took the children to the Fire Station - each child was given a red T-shirt to fit the theme – then they returned to the McAlphine home for a delicious lunch with treats and ice cream to follow. They also hired a jumping castle which helped to get rid of some of the pent up energy, but what the children enjoyed most was the facing painting and playing soccer with the KPMG staff.

Thank you again to all our sponsors.

3 new babies!!

We have 3 new babies!

We’re inundated with new babies at the moment. We have received 3 new born babies who were abandoned at the hospital - the 2 girl didn’t even have names. Once they arrive (if they are 6 weeks or older) they are tested for the HIV virus. The two little girls are both negative so they will be going out for adoption. We are waiting for the little boy’s results.

The little 11 month old boy who came to us a month ago is also HIV negative and he is going out to foster parents because his grandmother will not release him for adoption. We are very pleased as he was brought to us because he was ill, so we thought he would be positive.

Items for Praise:

Our 78 Senator Road house needed painting badly – the front wall looked the worse, with the paint actually peeling off - the painter thought we had already started scraping the wall in preparation for painting! Thanks to Samancor Manganese (BHP) for donating the money for the paint and also to Panache Paints for providing their labour for free...
